Road trip to Los Angeles

We’ve waited a whole summer to go to Las Vegas. Our visit was delightful, and we had a wonderful time. But one night we came up with an idea. Me and my cousin loved the Baywatch TV series(the ones with the beautiful men and women in red swimsuits, running on the beach), so we decided to go on a road trip to Los Angeles. The next day, we woke up early in the morning and got ready for the trip. I don’t remember how long it took us to go there. But, I surely remember that we were stuck in traffic for at least an hour, may be more, only to get in the city.

Our first stop was the beach from Baywatch. After a lot of asking, checking the internet and using the map, we found what we were looking for. The beach was long and empty, because it was not a worm day. The lifeguard towers were standing quietly and the sign – no lifeguard on duty – completed the whole picture. It was as if the beach was consigned to oblivion. However, this was no disappointment for us. We stepped on the  fine, golden sand and huge smiles appeared on our faces. We were actually there. When I was little, me and my cousin used to play and I was Caroline (played by Yasmine Bleeth) and she was C.J. (played by Pamela Anderson). We used to jump from the wardrobe on the beds, as if we were lifeguards jumping from jets/boats in the water. You can imagine what our mattresses looked like in the end.

So, we were there posing as lifeguards, having a great time on the beach, and then we felt brave enough to try the water. It was our first time in the Pacific Ocean, and fortunately the last, because the water was freezing cold. The pier was near us and we decided to go and see if it “offered” a good view. From the end we could see the vast ocean. A not so light breeze was “pushing” the water to the solid wooden props beneath us. There were restaurants, ice cream shops and attractions, but we had no time for them.

Our next stop, was in Beverly Hills. We drove by all this amazing houses, with the big palm trees along the street. When I used to watch 90210, I thought that this place can not be truly so glamorous, but it really was. Rodeo Dr was patiently waiting for us, with all the expensive shops, and the famous hotel from Pretty Woman, that was standing stately in the end of it.

It was time to see the famous Hollywood walk of fame. It was the first time I saw the Hollywood sign  in the distance. I was like a little child in the car watching  from both windows and waiting to see it. Anyway, the Hollywood walk of fame, was nothing special. Long street with stars on both sidewalks, and people actually walked on them. I was like – hey, dude, move from Michael Jackson’s star… We walked to see as many stars as we could, but time was ticking away and we had to go. But before that we went to a huge mall. I was in no mood for shopping, but quickly realized that that was not the purpose of our visit. From one place on the third floor, I think, we could see clearly, as in a theatre, the Hollywood sign. I was happy.
