Cocoa Fudge With Nuts

Today, I was in the mood for something with chocolate. I searched a lot and found this very easy recipe – It is a very easy recipe and everything was ready in less than 30 minutes.

  • 1 tea-cup flour;
  • 1 tea-cup sugar;
  • 1/2 tea-spoon baking soda;
  • 2 tea spoons cocoa;
  • 2 eggs;
  • nuts ( I used around 50 grams (1.7637oz) of peanuts, walnuts and almonds);
  • 80 gramms (2.8219oz) chocolate (I used milk chocolate, but you can use any kind you like);
  • 125 grams (4.4092oz) butter.

How to do it:

First whip the egg whites and leave them aside. Then whip the butter with the sugar. Add the yolks to the butter mixture and whip again. In a bowl mix the flour, cocoa and baking soda. Then add them to the butter mixture and beat it up. Finally add the egg whites and whip again.

Put a baking paper on your baking dish and pour the mixture into it. Bake on 200 degrees centigrade (392 degrees Fahrenheit) . The fudge is ready when you can remove it easily from the baking paper. You will see how the ends of the fudge are coming off the paper.

Meanwhile melt the chocolate in a water-bath. I added a few drops of water, but you can use butter to make it more watery. After you take the fudge out of the oven, leave it aside to cool for a while.  I cut the fudge into pieces and then poured the chocolate on it. After that I sprinkled the nuts, that I cracked before hand, on top of it.

It is the perfect chocolate treat for a lazy afternoon. Add a cup of tea to eat and relax.
