Herzlich Willkommen In Berlin

on

When I got an invitation form a fellow Bulgarian traveler and what is more important – a very good friend of mine, to visit her in Berlin, I didn’t hesitate to say ”yes”. She had lived there with her boyfriend for almost a year and was very excited to show us everything she learned to love in Berlin. When I hear that someone is travelling to Berlin, I can’t help but remember the movie – Eurotrip.

To be honest, our flight was so early in the morning that I was very grumpy when we landed. All I needed was so much-needed sleep. But, I was so happy to see my friends and excited to go sightseeing that I forgot about my grumpiness really fast. After a refreshing hot cup of coffee and a slice, okay maybe two, of the delicious waffle cake that my friend had made, I was ready for adventures. I and my friend Siqna are both big fans of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., and there is one episode where Joey hates Janice, but Janice dates Chandler, so it’s really hard for him to see her every day. So, one day Janice and Joey decide to spend the whole day together and Janice call it – Joey and Janice’s day of fun. Why am I telling you this? Well, we call our adventure days – Monika and Siqna’s days of fun!

My friends had made a plan for every day, so we can see as much as possible. I don’t remember exactly in what order we saw everything, but I do know I really liked Berlin. The thing I liked the most was the museum dedicated to the history of the famous Berlin Wall – Mauermuseum. I was very impressed with the film that is shown there every 20 minutes. It was very overwhelming and I could feel my heart skipping a beat every other minute while watching. What a sad and tragic story.

I liked the flea markets, because they were a complete new territory for me. Although, I hate places with lots of people – too much crowd, less air. But, I enjoyed my time there very much. All of these people going there, selling, buying, all of the handmade stuff, the music, the food, the atmosphere…

It was autumn and the parks were picturesque. The colours were so bright and vivid. Not only we enjoyed the nice weather, but had some delicious food to eat, while anticipating the loveliness of the autumn. I got to say that there is some street art in Berlin and it is awesome!

Other than that we visited the must-see places in Berlin. The Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz, the Reichstag Building… I was very impressed! Will I go back in Berlin? Maybe, yes!

Before we went back to Bulgaria, we spend a day in the nearby town of Potsdam, which was lovely. You can read more about it here – Potsdam And Its Mesmerizing Palace .
